CONGRATULATIONS!!!! You have successfully completed your Open Water Course and are now recognized as a certified diver around the world. If you would like to extend your scuba skills then the PADI Advanced Open water diver course is for you. The ultimate in hands-on training to give you the extra confidence you need. In this course you will experience new diving environments under the supervision of your PADI Instructor with one class room session.
- Must be a certified PADI Open Water Diver or equivalent.
- Minimum age requirement is 12 yrs old (with written consent of parent or guardian for those under 18).
- Your Advanced Open Water Course consists of 2 core dives, which are designed to give you’re an orientation in the fundamentals of advanced diving techniques, and 3 ELECTIVE dives, which will be selected through consultation with your instructor- depending on your interests.
- CORE DIVES:
Underwater Navigation Dive:- Practicing compass and natural navigation skills.
Deep Dive:- Allows you to visit the underwater world below 60ft.
- Your elective dives may be chosen from any of the specialties listed below. Each dive is supported by a chapter in your Adventures of Diving manual, a knowledge review and briefings from your instructor before and after the dive.
All standard diving equipment including, BCD, regulator, fins, snorkel, weight system and wetsuit, compass and dive light.

ADVANCED OPEN WATER ELECTIVE DIVES
DRIFT DIVE: Learn the techniques used for drift diving and experience this way of seeing more of the underwater world with less effort.
BOAT DIVE: Learn about dive boats, equipment and etiquette. Experience the thrill and fun of new dive destinations that are reachable only by boat. Practice boat exit and entry techniques.
MULTI-LEVEL DIVE: Extend your bottom time safely using multi-level diving techniques which give you credit for shallower portions of your dive. Plan and execute a multi-level dive using the Wheel version or the recreational dive planner. Theory and operation of dive computers will be covered. (Use of a dive computer during all 5 advanced open water dives is strongly recommended). Rental fee for a computer will be discounted.
NIGHT DIVE: Ever wonder what it’s like to dive at night. You’ll be amazed at the nocturnal marine creatures that present themselves to you during a night dive. Learn the fundamentals of night diving (as well as etiquette of night diving) while being supervised by an instructor.
PEAK PERFORMANCE BOUYANCY DIVE: Improve and fine tune your weighting and buoyancy control for better diving comfort and air consumption.
SEARCH AND RECOVERY DIVE: Learn and practice search techniques for submerged objects. Students will practice using a lift bag to bring the object up safely to the surface.
UNDERWATER NATURALIST DIVE: Extend your knowledge of the aquatic realm and the creatures that inhabit it.
UNDERWATER PHOTOGRAHPY DIVE: Learn how water affects the photographic process. Practice techniques for great photographs in the underwater world.
WRECK DIVE: The Ocean is full of wrecks of all ages, shapes and sizes. Learn how to safely explore these treasures of the deep.
ALL ADVANCED OPEN WATER DIVES MAY BE COUNTED TOWARD THE REQUIREMENTS FOR THE EQUIVALENT SPECILATY COURSE.
